If I Use The Gas And Electric Really Sparingly...
like now, and I really am being very, very careful. 12 units of gas and 28 units of electric per week I will come in around the same amount annually as VQ who posts here and I cannot see a way to reduce it further.
And if it keeps rising in price(and it will)and money gets tighter I'm not sure where we'll end up. If I am not helped with the rent and community charge at some point(in work or out of work)I don't know where I'll be...
Anyhow, my calculations come out at approx £930 annually for the two. If I have to put it on longer in Winter that could see my figures out considerably.

I've had to keep two pc's on the last day or two so I don't lose files. I have also had the washer and tumble drier going and even the vacuum cleaner so my electric use may be up a little, it will be interesting to see by how much...
I checked...so far one unit's difference for all that!
Generally I cannot see how I can use any less than I do now...To keep the electric, gas, internet and tv going I will need approx £1,500-£2,000 before I even think about food, rent, community charge.
Unless I am helped I cannot see how most people earn enough to keep a rough over their head. Even if I had to get rid of the internet and tv and sit with only a radio for entertainment, I would still need food, heating and elctric and the untility bills alone would come in at around £1,000-£1,500 a year if I was careful. And even on a tight budget...you have to eat.
At best if I dropped the tv and internet, I'd be save £300-£500. Approx £1.50 per day.
But if that money had to e diverted to food then I'd have no choice. And I'd probably have to try and save a little more on the gas/electric as £1.50 a day is not much to spend on food...
Oh I've had the laptop on a bit today too...
The problem when on a tight budget is it doesn't allow for when you need to repair or replace something. And I haven't taken into account that I may need to take out home insurance when it comes arond again in December...
I have also had two DAB radios on today too(I forgot about them)
Two PCs, two Dab radios, and a lap top seems a bit extravagant to me.........and a TV. You need the Internet and TV and a radio. You said you needed two PCs but why two Dab radios and a laptop? Or am I missing something?
One upstairs and one down?
.....but both on together......because that's how it reads.
Yes it is handy having a radio in another room so you don't feel tied to one room but usually the second one is on batteries but I have been told a DAB radio hardly uses any power.
Usually the second one is used when a programme clashes or I want to hear something else.
The second one was the one I purchased for Mum when she was at the home...
I leave one in the bedroom to record from on the PC, the second is usually in the room that I sleep in and if I have finished recording I now put the PC to sleep and swith the DAB radio off.
And yes, whilst I have access to the internet and broadband I sometimes record the radio from the net and therefore leave the DAB radio off.
The DAB radio sounds better sometimes and as I don't like using my allowance which is between 8am-Midnight after that I can download as much as I like and go mad but that means staying up through the early hours and I have still managed to go to bed at reasonable time and actually sleep.
I don't usually have two pc's on at the same time...and I haven't had the tv on for approx 3 days...and where possible though I have to charge the battery I am using my laptop at present...
