I Don't Say This Often But...
If you see that Flossie Malavialle is appearing near you...go and see her you will not be disappointed. I have some videos to link to but the battery ran out and keeping a camera still is difficult. What you will not experience from the video's is the personality and humour between the songs that was entertaining. And such a varied selection of songs. I have paid much more to see a show/concert and been disappointed. Not tonight!
Even the support duo that filled in between Flossie's sets were of high quality. We were royally entertained for practically three hours. They call our club a folk club but that's unfair. We hear jazz, country, folk, rock and pop. All styles are welcome.
I am going to try and give the video's I feature on my blog to my friend and see if they can be tidied up and added to the official website of the club(I will post a link again to our official site)and also see if I can have video's that I have missed exchanged to me. I know some video's were taken tonight that I missed and some may have been taken from a better angle. We shall see.
I am going to have to buy some spare batteries to allow for the fact that batteries seem to only last upto an hour when doing video's. And to be honest I don't believe one is enough especially if attending an event that lasts hours or you have travelled a long way to attend. The memory card is large but that means nothing when the battery runs out and you don't have access to an electric socket or a PC to charge it up again.
Here are some images to be going on with that I took last evening...

I have to say that on the image above that I get the impression that Flossie was looking directly into my camera. She is one sexy lady and has charisma. You won't find me saying that about many people.
Looking at Flossie's website she is playing some more shows locally that I can attend(hopefully even having to use public transport)In Darlington in a few weeks with Paul Donnelly in an ancient church, I think that is to raise money for the Mayor's Charity. I have talked to someone and have secured a seat. In October in a village approx 3 miles from here but I may have to spring for a taxi home...and she appears at the Town Hall that I often go to in November. All the shows could be very different....So ok, I am a fan!
The above duo were also very good and offered a diverse choice of music too. As they were sitting down it made it difficult to get a good photo but again I have a couple of videos to post and I moved to a different location. I will ask my friend for their professional name but for now I only know them as Craig and Tanya. They performed ballads, standards, jazz and some recent up to date songs.
