Another U Turn?

They'll say not but the idea that people doing the same job in the North as the South may be paid less was controversial at the best of times when announced, yesterday the Government said if there is no good reasons that can be thought up for the idea to be instigated, it will be scraped.I suspect that is saying the idea has been shelved and probably to avoid the likelihood of problems it will cause between workers and the Government as this will probably affect the Public sector.

Now if we could just get a reversal on the tax they are bringing in to charge £13 on each bedroom that is not used on a property that has probably been lived in for many years things would not look so bad...sometimes family members move out but need to return in the future or a bedroom needs to be used if someone takes ill and someone has to stay or equipment has to be installed for care. Other reasons too.

I see that another story has been broke by a newspaper over tax avoidance and again by those who are "Doing OK" and can afford to pay more. Let me correct that...it is perfectly legal, it's not tax evasion which is a criminal offence and so they are doing nothing wrong but for many who are struggling with daily life it will stick in their craw..

Jersey Tax Dodge

Update:Day Two and the story continues with certain people from the pop world being outed. Well Gary Barlow has been mentioned...just as he is praised for organising the Queen's Jubilee Concert and get awarded an OBE? Some award anyhow...
