I Have Just Purchased...

Six sets of Long Johns(mixture of white and a very dark blue)so they could last me a fortnight before I need to put them in the washer as a bulk wash.

A pair of slippers(I wanted them lined)but never mind and though I am not necessarily keen on the pattern I have a pair of brushed cotton PJ's.

4 Briefs. And I still may try and get some of those PJ bottoms people lounge around in when they are on their own.

I've just eaten a bread bun and a Chicken Bake and will now have a mug of coffee.

I've been checking with my internet provider and they have assured me I can do all my heavy stuff and whatever I like overnight Midnight-8am for free and it does not bite into my normal package so I am downloading all of the Desert Island Discs programmes that are on line and archived.

Another site I am interested is the The Naked Scientists, they have podcasts for downloading and the main person behind that site is often on local radio in the south but also on Radio 5 and he answers in an easy way all those questions you've wanted answered.

I'm seriously thinking of signing up to EDF's dual power agreement which lasts until September 2013. Been looking at the quote they gave me...

Its difficult to be accurate because Mum's gas bills were high and now mine are low...they think that they can do my electric £30 a month cheaper.

I've a little time to decide, may leave it over the weekend and think about doing something about it next week.

Think I'll have another look out and finish my shopping trip.

Good for you!
You're sounding upbeat and I like that. We can't undo what has been done. All we can do is make the best of what we've got and it sounds as if that's exactly what you're doing.

You're easily bright enough to manage your own probate and, with the money you save by doing it yourself, you could have a lovely week's holiday at a seafront hotel, meals included, with plenty left over.

Well, I could take them back as they unused but I'll keep the long john's I have purchased as they are my size but a taxi driver who liked mum and me asked if I would be offended if he gave me some his long john's...

He has a drawer full of them and...some are made by Damart!

He wears them to play golf on cold mornings. I don't mind having more than I need as they will be used eventually. And as I said I can have one big wash after a few weeks rather than every few days...

I'm not too proud to accept charity...

I did find some lounge type pyjama bottoms(2 pack)and if it's just myself in the house, I'll just slouch around...no bed socks to be found but some thick socks for £2.50(4 pairs)which will keep my feet warm and yes I'll go back to using a hot water bottle if needed.

I'll fill the flasks as I said I would.

Mum would not believe how things have changed for me...just as well she doesn't know...and if she does I hope that she's proud of how I am dealing with things.

I feel tired after all I have done today and my knee hurts so I think I'll have a lie down and listen to the radio or some of the podcasts that I have downloaded.

I keep meaning to watch The Chase on TV but keep forgetting and then sometimes I think can I be bothered.

They may allow me a holiday...I can but try...

I nearly always watch The Chase. If you miss it, you can go to 'ITV Player' the next day and watch it.
After all you've been through you deserve (and probably need) a holiday.

I think I may make the effort and watch it today...

It might be nice to be waited upon but I don't mind a self catering one, its a change of scenery and I could still "Eat Out!"

If I don't manage it this year, there's always next...

I don't mind a break out of season...

I wouldn't save up all your long johns for a fortnight, that's a good way of breeding harmful bacteria !

I've heard Dr Chris, the Naked Scientist on Three counties radio, he's very good.

I prefer Dr Chris better than Dr Karl who is on Radio 5 through the night and based in Australia.

I won't be wearing the LJ's after a day(after all they are in all but name just a different version of vests and briefs.

If I change them regularly and keep clean, I'll be saving on the electric with the washer and tumble drier only being used when necessary.

If I can find some tops with long sleeves that are a bit like a sweatshirt I could match them up to the PJ trousers for lounging around in...at the minute they are short sleeved...

I never managed to get a lie down but there's still plenty of time. I'm away to switch the tv on and watch "The Chase"

I have only ever caught bits of it never a full programme and I used to hear it on in Mum's Nursing Home.

I think another resident just laid in bed all the time and the staff put the TV on just for the sake of it, I don't think she understood what was going on...I think it stopped her shouting out every so often.

I haven't eaten much today but I don't think its due to depression or any particular reason but I don't think it does any harm occasionally to eat less. And I can eat any time that I wish.

I can always snack on some fruit or have a salad. I have eleven different types of cereal to choose from.

I went to listen to some the Desert Island Discs Podcasts, they're pretty good but I fell asleep so heard half of one, five minutes of another and then awoke to find another had begun...I really will have to try and give them my full attention.

Within two hours I'll download some more. I've just had some vegetable soup and a wholemeal bun...so I am eating!

Think I'll sneak back to bed and try and listen to those podcasts again...

This must seem awfully mundane to many at present, me not doing much but I suppose it shows how I am coping or not and what happens when you lose someone that means so much to you and are part of your life.

In time I will no doubt talk of what is happening outside of my immediate life again but most of us are doing the same things day in day out. And we all have much the same concerns.

You need to get out some part of the day if it's just round the block.

I'm sure that I will anon.

I have been tempted to invest in a mini oven to avoid always using the main one(possibly saving energy)but the problem I have is that there is a cupboard above every worktop. I may still look into it though.

I'm off out to see to see what I can find(Dressing Gown and Mini Ovens)may buy some bread and milk. Don't really need anything else.

You wouldn't believe the carry on I've had just to put a pair of socks on.

No wonder for a long time I gave up wearing them.

There was a time when it was so warm here in the summertime I used to complain and have a big fan going and still it was too hot and I could leave my windows open, welcomming any breeze that managed to pass through the house.

I almost wish that weather would return and allow me to avoid putting the heating on. I wonder if I'll ever be that warm again...

Just as I am about to go out we're getting a real down pour...hopefully it will pass over...
