Mum's Music!
I haven't played the mp3 player since Mum passed away. To be honest I've left the radio on and left that switched to speech stations. I will listen again though. So I could squeeze as much music as possible onto it, I converted the music files and made them smaller which took a reasonable amount of work and effort. For now, I have saved them to the pc so I don't have to all that work again and...I started to download from the archive on the internet earlier edidtions of the long running series "Desert Island Discs"
Due to copyright reasons, the music has been edited so that there's not much of it remaining but you do hear what was chosen by the guests and their reasons why and you get the interview too. It's in mono but I suppose you're not going to miss much just because you don't hear the host and guest on the left and right of your speakers/headphones.
So I am moving them to the mp3 player and I will start and listen to them. I have not downloaded a lot so far and outstayed my welcome with the new ISP but they download so quickly and I am doing this after midnight so I don't bite into my normal allowence.
It used to take ages just to download one...Only approx another 1,000 to get! I have some of my own which I don't need to download but they are mainly from the decade of 2000 and they are more intact and in stereo. But it's great being able to hear programmes from a time when I was not listening as often as wish that I had.
I talked to my ISP to check that I am not over doing it and they said I can do whatever I like and as much and after midnight is the time to do it! So at least I got their ok!
