I Did It Once Before!

What? I went through quite a long period where I had a moustache. But once(and photos do exist somewhere)I grew a beard. I don't know how but I seemed to have a longer period off work and it gave me that little bit of extra time to manage a proper one rather than just looking a scruff. It's got to be thirty years since I last did that. It could be that long since I had my moustache.

I doubt that I will be keeping it but as I have not shaved for a number of days, I may let it grow into a full and established beard.

I nearly headed you off at the pass and said that's how it would come across in my post (-:

I'm dressed now...I'm not sure that I am feeling the benefit of the Long John's yet. My PJ's seemed warmer...but I'll still keep and use them.

Don't worry the beard won't last long...besides when you start to get older they up being all kinds of colours.

I don't care one way or the other. It's the person under the beard that counts.
If you can't do as you please now, Gildy, when can you?

I'm not the biggest fan of beards (: but I appreciate your comment VQ!

I won't have it long...I like the feeling after a shave but I don't like having to shave. Wish I could stop my whiskers growing in the first place or had something that I could put on like a foam/cream and then they'd wash away with water...

VQ will stick up for you come what may, so nobody else's comment counts.

So you do just as you please and slop about with a beard. You can do as you want, you please yourself.......wear your long johns all the time......VQ thinks they are a good idea, along with the beard.

I was only trying to encourage you to keep up your self esteem and self respect which I think is very important when you are on your own.

Dont get a beard for goodness sake. That and wearing sloppy clothes is not the way to keep one's self esteem. Dressing properly although smart casual should be the aim. Just watch some of the low life you see on the Jeremy Kyle Show should give you an idea.
Most of them look prematurely old and seem to exist wearing ghastly trackie bottoms and trainers and the have dressed up for a TV appearance!!!!

C'mon Anon...don't be so critical of VQ and myself...Do you think I'll wear the Long John's all the time? I hope the weather picks up and it's not as cold. But they are helping to keep me warmer...of course I must keep up my self esteem for me and as a tribute to Mum...

I've already said the beard is likely to be temporary and at least I am eating and not always eating baked beans and soup, I am trying to vary my diet and make the effort and just maybe if they keep reducing the prices I will still be able to have some strawberries/blueberries etc...

Don't worry Nick, I won't be like those on that show. But on a practicle note, casual is easier for being in the house, it requires less preperation and makes the laundry easier.

I'm dressing mainly for keeping warm but of course I do try and make an effort outdoors.

And as said previously I will wear Long John's, as and when, and they will be changed regularly, that's why I purchased a few sets, the same with the PJ's. I have purchased at least half a dozen jumpers.

I'm having to adapt to the situation that I find myself.

Perhaps you could ring the changes on the Jeremy Kyle show Anthony by appearing in your vest and long johns! :oD

There's a thought (-;

It's funny since mentioning the wearing of Long John's to a few people, I've discovered they admit to having worn or do wear them...a neighbour and a cousin in the last day or two...

I've tried to sign up to E-Bay and Pay Pal to get that Dressing Gown and I seem to be in limbo at present and not able to buy...I'm waiting for some e-mails to come to me.

If they don't I could miss this dressing gown...

Not a good start...
