Street Bands In Durham...
I caught a few bands taking part in the Bands in the Streets of Durham and I can't do them justice. I did not mind people walking past and restricting the view and the same in the market place. But again some people are so inconsiderate of others, most take a position that does not block another persons view but we again had other taking photo's and as long as they get their photo "Damn everyone else!" or there was a case in the market where two people just decided to stand as near as possible to the performers and in the way of the hundreds watching.
And one band was playing Bohemian Rhapsody and I had a perfect view and just in the last ten seconds a man who had stayed sitting got up and moved in on the band's final pose. And blocked my camera and many in the audience from seeing it too.
I don't know if they are oblivious of their actions or they just don't care.
The Dead Victorians - reminded me very much of the bands of the 1920's often imitated in the 1960's with bands like the Temperance Seven and The Pasadena Roof Orchestra. They talked in an upper class accent and had a comedy routine managing to rope in members of the public too.

The above "OompahBrass played all kinds of music often not associated with such a band and also combined some routines which with a variety of instruments must take some doing. You need to be fit.

Meantime some of the bands gave a performance to a larger crowd in the Market Place which offered an easier view.
The above band was the Bagdaddies...who did a little comedy and the music had a more tropical feel about it.
I caught the tail end of this trio, a female band called BoldAs. It really was seconds. I caught the bands that I saw on Framwell Gate Bridge and the Market Place but the feature I linked to suggests that there were other places I might have seen others and had a better view.
