Just A Quick Post...

Later today our new Aldi discount supermarket opens so I may see if there is anything nice to buy later on. It is welcome but any savings will depend on what you buy and have to look for cheap items or what is on offer. So I will have to play it against the other food shops in the town.

And I am working on a limited budget anyhow. So I am still unable to take advantage of some of the bargains that come up. As sometimes you have to buy in bulk.

Also, I go for my check up at the hospital today which I hope will be ok. The appointment isn't until 11am but the transport could arrive as early as 8am but it saves me paying for a taxi or bus...

As I eat smaller portions and lots of fruit and vegetables(casseroles, salads etc..)I hope so and according to a website I use I have lost weight and I can wear trousers with a smaller waist band and it seems I am around the 7st-71/2st(50Kg-53Kg)or should be but I dug out the bathroom scales and they say that I am...exactly 10st(76Kg)I don't do metric so I hope my comparisons are correct.
shocked smileyI hope that is wrong! I feel as though I have lost weight and people have said that I look like I have.

Good luck at the hospital , why don't you try putting the heating on for an hour a day instead of buying more food ? You said recently that's what you might do.

Firstly, Thank you for your good wishes Anon they are appreciated. The hospital are happy with my progress regarding the Kidney problems and that is the most important thing of all. I was weighed and I am around 10st 7lbs but of course they weigh you whilst wearing clothes and shoes.

The Consultant says that I weigh less and he is happy and no concerns.

I don't look as though I am that heavy.

We all got talking on the ambulance there and back. I heard some real horror stories how genuine people with some serious health issues are worried about the changes coming and the assessments of their conditions.

Many are having their health affected by the stress and are losing sleep. I am not hopeful about the future. But no doubt I will return to this topic another day...

The new discount supermarket was very, very busy and I suspect that the other one nearby was suffering today. The queues at the check outs were long. I think/hope it will be a success.

There are still some items that are not any cheaper but working between shops and looking at offers money can be saved.

It has the most choice I have seen so far having been in two others in recent months and there is no need to add the cost of taxi or bus fares.

Having come home from the hospital I was very tired and had a fair few aches and pains so once I had done my tiny shop and something to eat, I went to bed and had a very, very long sleep. Exciting eh?

I had some chips from the fish and chip shop with buttered bread and Marmite.

And planned another meal later in the day but could not be bothered(Besides I overslept)

Now as for the heating, I have been putting it on more often.

Thanks to my food store, I should be able to spend less on food and shop less often and that means money saved can be used towards other things.

Like heating when it is needed most during the Winter.

Also what is helping is not having to use the main oven too much by having various gadgets in the kitchen that use less energy if you are cooking a hot meal.

Also by layering the clothes that I wear(mainly purchased from the charity shop)hats, gloves, socks, pyjamas, dressing gowns, thermals all help.

Having access to fleeces, hot water bottles, electric blankets, duvets etc...(obviously not used all at the same time)they can also keep me warmer whether in/out of bed, in theory this can also mean using the gas central heating less. I hope so...

It has been colder of late, yet many times I have been quite warm and still able to ration how often the heating is used.

If this can continue perhaps there will be extra money for when it really gets cold. Lets hope the Winter is a mild one.

What I am unable to avoid paying is the standing charges

The only way you will avoid standing charges is to have both gas and electricity disconnected! Use candles.

:-) Anon, If standing charges were got rid of perhaps people would use more gas/electric or at least see some benefit for the money they are spending...but you are right what you say...

Well, it is something to look into perhaps...I only have one electrict light on at night anyhow but it all helps I guess. The amount of discussions about different lighting these days is amazing.

Old Gilder is a real old Jonah, isn't he? Must be a laugh a minute in his company - NOT.

I said very little and listened, you assume so much...at least Nick puts his name to his comments...but it is funny having one anon responding to another. It could even be the same person agreeing with themselves.

None of you have any idea how I am in what may be called "Real Life" and writing a blog/diary will always be different to being in the company of someone.

Equally, you assume that when I am in the company of others all that is talked about is illness or politics if at all.

Even when I am more positive and things seem to be better you still have a go.

At least I leave all comments on my blog, don't censor, not yet anyhow,I could imagine others would delete/block anything critical on their blogs.

Some have to approve comments before they are allowed.

I wonder what others think of you, after all you leave comments about my life, I have put it there for all to read so I am fair game.

We have the choice to be anonymous if we wish, and no I'm not replying to myself.

Yes you do have that choice...but it helps if there is a name to respond to. At least Nick has the decency to do that.

And how would we know you(or trace you)by doing that? After all you could call yourself anything you wish and that could be made up too but it does help work out which Anon said what and give others who comment(and myself)a kind of idea what you are like. We don't even know what gender you are.

Too many anons just confuses everyone...it is kind of funny in that even if it means no one follows my blog or leaves any comments, I said some months ago that I would not respond to anonymous comments and I continue to do so.

Perhaps I am the idiot for doing so.
