I Slept Badly And Fell Asleep At The Wrong Time...
So I awoke at 8am and had to rush to be ready. I managed to prepare my cool bag as promised. The idea being to save money and sit somewhere perhaps whilst looking out to sea and taking it easy. I ended up lugging it the whole day, I never got the chance to sit and eat what I had prepared and my companion hardly touched what I had with me. The only good thing is that I did when I came home and there is enough for tomorrow too. I missed the bus we arranged to use by two minutes so instead of going to the railway station we went in the opposite direction by bus for the first part of the journey.
So I had baby tomatoes, cooked beef, boiled egg, beetroot, celery, cucumber, spring onions, pickled onions, lettuce, bread buns, salad dressing, water and a small bottle of cider. Earlier, I had a banana a cereal bar and a small packet of crisps.
I would have done less and taken easier routes everywhere we went, I am good at finding shortcuts. I probably would have come home sooner too. Upon on getting home I had the above meal and promptly fell asleep. I am very tired and it will take me days to recuperate and get some energy back.
If I had gone by bus whilst I have access to a bus pass I could've travelled for nothing but the return trip by train cost me around £7. We ended up having to start the journey by bus to Darlington, then had to get a taxi to the railway station(more money spent)and coming home I could not walk anymore so did think sharing a taxi was a good idea when we alighted from the train, the station is a long walk from home(more money spent)
During the day he wanted a cup of tea twice so I had to join him and that came in at another £2.60(I would not have bothered)
Sorry to complain.
A container with some beetroot leaked in the cool bag unbeknown to me and I kept wondering my the bottom of the bag seemed damp, somehow the little bit of liquid found a way out of the bag and stained the outer bottom corner of the cool bag. So I ended up with a red hand. Its dried better than I feared and with some water I may shift the stain altogether.
If that wasn't bad enough I dropped my new digital camera but its still working, I cannot see any cracks, scratches or dents and I was fortunate that it fell onto wooden slats reasonably flat on the pier. That really would have spoilt the day.
I do have some images to post. So I'll see what I have...
The weather was dull and cloudy but warm enough, to be honest the previous few days of blazing sunshine might have been too much to cope with.
