So Ok I Had To Add Taxi Fare One Way...
It got me out of the house...I have now purchased some Pork mince(and it was on sale at half price but double the size)and though until my teeth are fixed it may be a problem I have bought some belly pork too. They say once opened use immediately...well, I'm risking wrapping it up and putting what isn't used it in the freezer for other meals otherwise I'm missing the chance of having a few meals. I bought some double strength squash to reduced by half price and it makes 60+ drinks...
I think I am well set now with quite a bit of choice and variety...I said I'd have strawberries and ice cream after my meal tonight but I may decide to have bananas instead.
And though I don't drink much and now it will be even more a rarity(they say drink is cheap)not when you are on a limited budget. But I think I may have a bottle of cider tonight.

How far are the supermarkets from your house ? If they're not more than a mile or two, think seriously about getting a cheap mobility scooter. It'll save you money in the long run & you can get out of the house whenever it suits you, even if it's only for a trundle round the block or to your nearest park. I wouldn't have thought the authorities would think a mobility scooter was an extravagance if it keeps you independant .
If you ever move into a housing association flat, ask if you can have a ground floor one because of your mobility problems, if not I'm sure most housing association block of flats have lifts & you could keep you little scooter in your hall.
What they'd like to hear I'm sure I walked one way taking my time.
So at least that made it as though the fare was only £1.50 each way...
I saw a very small mobility scooter today not built like a bus which might work for me...all ideas to consider...and I'm not dismissing.
Of course now that my cupboards and fridge/freezer is full I don't have to go out as much unless we are doing so because its good to get out.
An occasional glass of cider is lovely - so long as it's not that awful white cider which, I believe, is lethal!
I'm glad to see that you intend to eat properly, Gildy.
I'm amazed at the price of fares in your area. Here, on the edge of London, the minimum minicab fare is £5.00 and the bus fares are a flat rate, £2.30 whether you go just one stop or the whole length of the route.
Mercifully, I'm old enough to have a free pensioner's bus pass.
Also, I'm lucky enough to have a bus stop almost outside my front door - a godsend. That's something to think about if you ever move.
I'll have to check, I think the cider is a new one from Sweden? They knocked 50p off but it still cost £1.50!
The bus fares sound much the same VQ in that I can(I think get a return ticket that will take me up to 7 miles away and that would cost around £4.30)maybe a little less or do one way and as you say travel one stop or all the way.
Still less than a taxi. Though it takes longer and they do not run as regular as they once did. Evenings and Sundays are bad...they used to run alongthe top of my street(I'll have to look into that again)
It may be that you have to time it so that you catch a bus at that stop and have it take to the main one in the town centre and change busses but that will add to the cost. Probably still cheaper than a taxi...
I'll need a taxi tomorrow...my other tv will delievered to Tesco's for collection...
Well I have had the first course...seemed strange doing a kind of Sunday meal for one but I was able to take some short cuts...tinned new potatoes, yorkshires just to be warmed up in the oven, some veg in the micro(Sweetcorn, brocolli and peas)sliced chicken and gravy.
Now I'll have to decide, e cream and straberries or bananas.
Now I could have a coffee or tea but I may wait awhile and have that cider.
As my music shows start in about ten minutes I may go to bed and listen to the radio.
I say that but usually I find something stops me...
